The Things Worth Fearing
Mobs & Bosses
Don't Starve Together's raid bosses are the milestones of a long server — gatekeepers to its best gear. Here are seven of the most defining threats, from the desert to the ruins.
Antlion
The Antlion sleeps beneath the Oasis Desert and stirs in summer. Neglect it and it triggers sinkholes and worse sandstorms across the map. Bring it the trinkets it craves to keep it calm, or fight it for its loot and end the threat for the season.
Bee Queen
Released by attacking a Gigantic Beehive, the Bee Queen floods the field with Grumble Bees while she stings. Defeat her for honey, the Bundling Wrap recipe that keeps food fresh indefinitely, and her royal crown — a serious early raid milestone.
Klaus
A gangly, greedy keeper of a winter loot stash, Klaus guards a chest you open with a deer key and fights alongside two gem-eyed deer. Beating him is a holiday tradition, and his stash holds some of the game's best mid-game gear.
Malbatross
A vast albatross that descends on the richest ocean fishing grounds, the Malbatross is the Return of Them era's signature sea boss. Its feathers craft the Feathery Canvas, the fastest sail in the game — reward for any serious sailor.
Hutch
Not every notable mob wants you dead. Hutch is a friendly fish-in-a-container found in the caves, a companion in the same family as Chester. Feed it the right items and it becomes a mobile light source or cold storage that follows you around.
Toadstool
Summoned by mining a glowing mushroom in the cave's mushtree forest, Toadstool is a brutal, spore-spewing endurance fight that regrows its cap if you're too slow. Survivors who fell it earn blueprints for some of the strongest armour and lights in the game.
Ancient Fuelweaver
Deep in the Atrium at the heart of the ruins waits the Ancient Fuelweaver, raised from a reanimated skeleton. It binds survivors, summons woven shadows and demands near-perfect play. It is the lore-critical capstone fight of the old endgame — the true test of a veteran team.
